Job Summary

As the Catering Sales Manager you will work closely with clients to create distinctively different and authentic events. Promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and prices while delivering outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The Catering Sales Manager sets the stage for the client and guest to have a memorable experience by warmly and enthusiastically communicating through all interactions; outside sales calls, hosting site inspections and planner meetings, cold calling & emailing, networking, attending industry & association events etc.

  • Develop and deploy departmental actions and strategies to meet team and company goals.
  • Enhance the guest experience by providing accurate and timely internal and external communications regarding the event specifications.
  • Assist in developing the catering sales marketing plan, goals & strategies.
  • Prospect, solicit and close new business as well as maintain repeat clients.
  • Work closely with Group Sales, Food and Beverage, Audio Visual and Conference Services to meet the client's needs and maximize revenue.
  • Discuss catering activity and performance during departmental meetings.
  • Work with F&B Director and Banquet Manager to establish policy standards, procedures, operational guidelines, and service manual.
  • Review and coordinate with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage to creative new menus and product concepts.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility. This is a demanding business, driven by business needs and we look for flexibility with work days and hours, but it’s also a lot of fun!
  • Experience. Previous experience passionately providing catering event and audio visual services.
  • People Person. Warmth and enthusiasm are key in developing the important guest relations necessary for this position.
  • Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing to both internal and external sources.
