Pay: $21.00 -$23.00 hourly

LOCATION: Mammoth Lakes, CALIFORNIA (we do NOT currently offer relocation assistance) 2963 Main Street Mammoth Lakes, CA. Candidate must currently live close to property and be able to make the commute. Walk in interviews welcomed, ask for General Manager Bart Valencia.

Position Summary: Directly supervises all front office personnel and ensures proper completion of all department duties. Directs and coordinates the activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, breakfast bar and telephone areas. Overseas all guest service operations to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.

  • Participates in the selection of front office personnel.
  • Trains, cross-trains, retains all front office personnel
  • Schedules the front office staff.
  • Supervises workloads during shift.
  • Evaluates the job performance of each front office employee.
  • Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments.
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge about the hotel’s services and hours of operations.
  • Knows all safety and understands emergency procedures and how to act upon them. Understands accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains master key control.
  • Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently and courteously.
  • Updates group information. Maintains, monitors, and prepares group requirements. Relays information to appropriate personnel.
  • Reviews and completes credit limit report.
  • Works within the allotted budget for the front office budget.
  • Receives information from the previous days shifts and promptly resolves any pertinent issues and passes on relative information to on coming staff.
  • Checks cashiers in and out and verifies banks and deposits at the end of each shift.
  • Enforces all cash-handling, check-cashing, and credit policies.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel.
  • Wears the proper uniform or business attire at all times. Requires all front office employees to wear proper uniforms at all times.
  • Develops and maintains all aspects of the hotel’s reservation system directed toward the maximization of profit.
  • Upholds the hotel’s commitment to hospitality.
  • Maintain flexibility and commitment to the overall success of hotel as directed by General Manager. Assume full responsibility of daily operation of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Will be responsible to correct employee customer service issues. Will be required to “coach, coach, counsel and document” employees when standards and practices have not been followed.

Experience: Minimum of one year of hotel front-desk supervisory experience, experience-handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
