Description

SAIC is seeking an Operational Research Analyst (Wargaming) in Suffolk, VA who will be supporting a Joint Staff organization which data collection & analysis, wargaming and experimentation support, event planning, design and execution, to inform strategic decision making. This position requires knowledge and experience with multiple types of analysis, and familiarity with Wargaming. This analyst will collaborate and coordinate with other Joint Staff and Service divisions and directorates, participate in and attend collaboration meetings, and provide documents and reports relevant to specific division tasks & activities. The analyst is expected to work effectively as part of a team in order to fully support the customer’s mission.

Job Duties Overview:

  • Provide analytical input & collaborate with wargame planners / designers.
  • Conduct research and analysis of concepts & operating concepts, and other relevant documents to establish mastery of the pertinent facts surrounding the concepts, CONOPS, CONEMPS and/or new systems or technologies.
  • Perform analysis of data gathered from experiments, exercises, simulations, wargames and lab events to develop reports and recommendations for senior DoD decisions on resourcing. Such analysis may include use of specialized analytic tools and techniques, to include modeling and simulation.
  • Apply objective, analytical, and orderly thinking to the analysis of complex U.S. operations to be addressed with the aid of concepts and/or new systems or technologies.
  • Provide research and analytical support to division and projects, including written, non-technical reports for senior DoD decision makers, indicating analytical findings and recommendations. Use high standards to ensure products are clear, well-organized and defensible.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and 5 years or more of relevant joint experience.
  • Active DOD Top Secret/SCI required.
  • Experience performing any of the following: Joint Wargaming, Joint Experimentation, Event Design, Event Planning, Event Execution, Modeling & Simulation, Operations Research System Analysis (ORSA), or Exercise Planning.
  • Experience in use of MS Office.
