Responsibilities:
Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. Palmdale Regional Medical Center’s new Labor and Delivery unit – The Birth Place – is now open! The 33,000-square-foot unit features 25 private patient rooms, six labor/delivery/recovery suites and two surgical suites. The Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, cardiac servicesfeaturing a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. Essential Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Medical Director, Director of Respiratory Therapy, and Respiratory Supervisors (and/or designated charge person as indicated). A Respiratory Therapist is responsible to give skilled respiratory care and diagnostics according to the individual patient’s needs guided by policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Language Skills - ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations, to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients and the general public.
  • Mathematical skills - to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, dosages and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning ability - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions, to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • One (1) year previous experience preferred.
  • General education level (high school). One or 2 years post-secondary education program specializing in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and PALS.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
