Are you an effective communicator that has experience in community outreach and engagement? Terre Foods Cooperative Market is opening a cooperative, full-service grocery store in Terre Haute, IN. We are seeking an experienced, engaged, and visionary General Manager to work with the Board of Directors and a community of owner-members to help open and lead a successful, locally focused grocery store.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:

● 3 years experience as a manager in a cooperative and/or independent grocery store or at least 5 years of successful grocery store experience in a management role.

● Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, and the ability to evaluate and determine appropriate strategic changes.

● Evidence of excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills, as well as an ability and desire to work across diverse groups

Qualifications:

• 3 years experience as a manager in a cooperative and/or independent grocery store or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a grocery store environment with experience in managing supply chains and analyzing and acting upon financials and sales data.
• Must be a proactive and results driven leader with excellent leadership skills, a problem-solving attitude, and high levels of confidence, maturity, accountability, and competence.
• Demonstrated excellence in planning, time management, attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, active listening skills required. Ability to interact with a diverse range of people and communicate with them effectively.
• Demonstrated supervision skills including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and team building. Proven ability to supervise and lead a team of staff for the delivery of high-quality service to customers.
• Excellent customer service skills. Ability to courteously interact with a diverse range of clients to ensure positive customer experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work and remain calm under pressure situations, and to address and resolve relevant issues.
• Must be a people-oriented team player with the ability to work well independently also.
